TOWARDS 2012
Mayan Wisdom and Sacred Sites

Yucatan, Mexico

Two Dates:
1) Spring Equinox 2010
2) Late July 2010

We are experiencing a time of profound transformation as the end of a Great Mayan Cycle approaches in 2012. Many of the changes now occurring both individually and at a planetary level are part of this cosmic cycle. You are invited to journey to the lands of the ancient Maya, who developed their astronomical calendars more than a millennia ago. The Maya used two different calendars to mark time. One is the sacred Tzolkin calendar of 260 days which the Maya used for their predictions; the other is the Haab calendar of 365 days which was used for civil affairs. In this journey, you will learn first hand about the Mayan calendar and what it means for all of us today in the land and place where it was first brought to life as a legacy for all humanity.

Experience for yourself, through guided visits by Mayan experts as well as taking part in ceremonies and meditations, the powerful places and potent energies of the sacred sites of Uxmal, Mayapán, Ek Balam, Coba, and Chichén Itzá as you join with a select group of people from various nations who will be gathering together to welcome in the spring equinox or the Mayan New Year with ceremony, ritual and meditation – seeding intentions for the next cycle of life. Come join us – bring your unique energies and life experiences as we plant together new seeds and intentions; helping pave the way towards what will unfold in 2012 and beyond! We await you!!

Group Leaders:
Jose Luis Carrillo Ricalde (Oxkin)
is the journey leader. Oxkin is a native of the Yucatan region, where he was born on November 4, 1953. According to the Mayan calendar, he was born under the sign of the serpent. Jose Luis has spent his life learning more about the wisdom of the ancient peoples of this region as well as working with various schools and traditions related to sacred light and transformation. He also interprets the Sacred Mayan Tzolkin calendar. Click on this short video of Oxkin discussing the meaning of 2012.

Since 1998, Jose Luis and his wife Kettia have been organizing journeys to Mayan ceremonial centers in the Yucatan for the spring equinox, May 1st and for the Mayan New Year. Because of his expertise and deep connections with the zone, the groups that he leads have permission to conduct ceremonies at these sites – a privilege not widely given by Mexican authorities. Dr. Skye Stephenson will be the Jade Journeys guide, serving as translator, facilitator and supporter for the participants. She will also offer optional sessions about how to program rocks and crystals at these sacred sites for those who are interested. According to the Mayan calendar, she was born under the sign caban, which stands for movement. In keeping with her Mayan sign, Skye is the founder of Jade Journeys, LLC and is a life long student of Latin American culture and wisdom. She leads sacred journeys in the Americas, and does crystal healing. Skye is also a published author and poet and writes a healing column.
